My New Look Bedroom

Hi I have finally finished my room, in between assignments, ballet, swimming and work!!
But I am happy with it for now, (until I change my mind again)I am so loving red and white at the moment. See that lovely Mosquito net, $4.00 from the Op Shop, love it when I get a bargin, although it wasn't lovely and white when i purchased it, but nothing a good soak in Napy San wouldn't fix. My room is very small, and please excuse the hideous blinds, I am renting and they service me well when i need to sleep during the day when I am on night duty. I haven't any new projects to show you at the moment, just a tad busy with Uni,etc., by for now M

Sat nite Special

This is my chest of drawers with very minor renovations, eg., hardware change, but doesn't it make a difference. I got bored with the chunky pain old white knobs, so changed them for these super slick black ones and it changes the look of my whole bedroom, which by the way is very very small, with a lot of furniture in it. I will show you a photo soon of the whole room, i have just bought new linen for the bed, so i will wait until i put it on and finish the lovely new cushions for it. I can't decide if i like the look of pale washed out whites, pinks, blues, or red white and black, love them both at the moment my room is red and white with a touch of black, and i love it. I scored big time at the op shop the other day, a gorgeous sewing table for my friend Kerry, for the huge sum of $4.00. We have been looking for a few weeks for one suitable and this is old, solid wood, with a small drawer in the front, and shabby white, perfect! I am now wishing i had kept it for myself!!
Chow for now, Amanda

Sat Nite Special

see this yucky brown drawer, the whole cabinet was like this, before i painted and painted and painted (i used heaps of paint) it white, or or Antique White USA, to be exact. It just kept on soaking it up, and the brown would bleed through, anyway it eventually stopped bleeding through, and i put the final coat on. I changed all the hardware, and this is what i got, i love it even though i'm not sure what it was originally used for. The top lifts up and there is a storage space a bit like a desk i suppose, and the big piece above the 3 drawers drops down, and there is a huge storage space in there, it is old, not sure how old 1940's i think, i got it at the op shop for $20. bargain. It now sits on my veranda and it is full of art supplies for my grand daughter Madison, she's 3 and very into doing craft with her Ya Ya, and we have so much fun!!
